Abstract :
Vehicular Ad hoc Network (VANET) is a subset of Mobile Ad hoc Networks (MANET), which forms wireless networks between vehicles. For better communication among these vehicles, an efficient routing protocol withstanding the dynamic topology of the vehicles plays a vital role. Routing in urban scenarios is highly challenging owing to irregularity in the distribution of vehicle nodes, their mobility pattern and obstacles in the propagation path. This paper focuses on the survey of various routing protocols proposed for VANETs in city environments.
