Abstract :
Two macro diversity handover algorithms (MDHO and MDHO-H) are proposed for the macro diversity handover of WiMAX system. MDHO algorithm is the improvement of Z algorithm. It selects the best m BSs with strongest signal strength as the diversity sets. Then the hysteresis margin is introduced and MDHO-H algorithm is proposed based on MDHO algorithm. Three algorithms are simulated and compared under a same scenario. Simulation results show that the handover numbers of MDHO algorithm and MDHO-H algorithm have decreased by 24% and 53% respectively compared to that of Z algorithm.
