Abstract :
This paper presents a novel technique for Current Differential pilot Relay (CDPR) Protection of series-compensated transmission line using wavelet transforms. MATLAB is used for fault simulations and discrete wavelet transforms (using db4 as mother wavelet) is performed for the analysis of the data generated by fault simulations. The wavelet based approach is used to detect, discriminate and classify various types of the faults.
