Abstract :
A novel technique to derive the closed-form Green´s function for finite dielectric structures is introduced using the characteristic Green´s function (CGF) and the complex images techniques. As an example, the closed-form, scalar potential Green´s function for a finite 2D dielectric structure is derived. The characteristic impedance of a microstrip on such a substrate is calculated using this Green´s function and the method of moments (MOM). Numerical results of the method show good agreement with other numerical techniques.
