Abstract
With the help of new interference detection strategies, the LOFAR radio environment is being analysed. The "AOFlagger" is the default LOFAR interference detector, and is a completely automated pipeline. This dagger was extensively tested on LOFAR data, and it was shown that it is faster and more accurate than other existing flaggers on LOFAR data. Early results of the epoch of reionisation (EoR) project also confirm the stability of the AOFlagger. Statistics of the first LOFAR EoR data show a relatively benign radio environment for astronomy, where only a few per cent of the data is flagged due to interference. An interference monitoring observation was recorded to make an inventory on the current interference situation of LOFAR.
