Abstract :
A preliminary design for the front-end electronics for the Silicon Tracker subsystem for the SSC (Superconducting Super Collider) GEM (Gamma, Electron, Muon) Detector has been simulated and will be submitted to AT&T for semicustom fabrication. The results show excellent beginning-of-life performance and acceptable end-of life performance (10 year lifetime, 5 Mrad total dose) for a required time walk (<16 ns) with a given power (1 mW) for a 12-cm detector strip length, but clearly degraded performance for 18-cm lengths
