Abstract
Summary form only. The Bates South Hall Ring Project will require 80 power supplies for the multipole magnetic element in the ring. Substantial savings were obtained by upgrading commercial `off the shelf´ power supplies to stabilities better than 25 PPM of the 1.1. GeV current setting. The basic scheme for upgrading the supplies was to replace the internal shunt, reference, and error amplifier with components which have better temperature stability specifications, package them in a temperature-stabilized box, and mount them near the power supply
