Abstract :
A comparison between three theoretical methods for predicting the radiation pattern of an antenna under test (AUT) from the information provided by a grid of planar near-field samples is presented. Two of these methods are available in the literature: the classical FFT based method and an integral equation based one. Moreover, a new approach based on a genetic algorithm (GA) optimization process is proposed as a novel, powerful and versatile alternative.
