In order to reflect the utilization of time-space resources comprehensively, efficiency of urban intersection was studied. conflict intensity was put forward as a parameter quantifying traffic conflict, three kinds of conflict intensity models were developed on traffic flow, conflict point and intersection level respectively, efficiency model was developed by selecting average velocity, volume and conflict intensity. Finally the model between efficiency and conflict intensity was developed by specific examples of Nanjing in China, the conclusion indicates that the relation between them can be expressed with logarithm function. Because efficiency model can be applied to any traffic volume condition, it can evaluate working conditions of intersections more widely.
