Abstract :
This paper describes the development of a power quality monitoring system capable of capturing and retrieving electrical quantities related to harmonics and distortion levels. A new algorithm to obtain synchronous samples when the input signal frequency changes is also presented. A fast and accurate measurement technique to measure the frequency of a sinusoid is also developed. Thus, a virtual energy meter with energy cost and maximum demand functions is implemented
