Abstract :
Cognitive radio is a popular research topic that has attracted considerable interest in the recent past. This paper aims at carrying out a literature review on the subject thus giving an overview of the concept with special emphasis on more popular research areas. The prime consideration for the selection of the papers has been their citations in the subsequent research work. The review has been followed with a summary of identified potential research areas that can assist future researchers.
