Abstract :
For a long time, companies have had to continuously adapt their tools and their design methodologies. The changes occurring in the defense electronics context has reinforced this phenomenon. After thinking about this new context, about the new tools and the new needs, the Matra Defense Electronics Division carried out studies about new methodologies, these preliminary studies constituting the first phase of an adaptation process of our design methods. First lessons have been learned particularly concerning the problems met, the performances and the limits of the tools used, as well as the methodological aspect. Some “tracks” for future studies have been outlined, concerning the methodology, needs or requirements for CAE tools
