Abstract
The second (conventional variance or Campbell signal) <xx >, <yy >, <xy >, the third <xxx >, <xy <yxy >, and the modified fourth order <xyxy >-3*<xy etc. central signal moments associated with the currents (i 1 , i 2) from two electrodes of an ex-core neutron sensitive fission detector (W8073, RS-P6-1608-110) have been measured versus the reactor power of the 1-MW TRIGA reactor in Mexico City. The suppression of background noise is improved and the lower limit of the measurement range is extended as the order of moment is increased, in agreement with theory (see L.B. Baers, 1989)
