Abstract :
The design charts for the exit canal of the ion source are prepared to give complete characteristics of the extracted beam corresponding to different running conditions of the source. The focusing properties of the beam between the plasma boundary and the canal are analyzed, considering the theory of conical flow of proton beams between spherical surfaces. The dimensions of the beamforming cathode shield are then determined
