Abstract :
This paper presents the design and simulation result of a miniaturized millimeter-wave bandpass filter realized by low temperature co-fired ceramic (LTCC) technology. The bandpass filter with a central frequency of 60 GHz and a 6 GHz pass-band is designed as a three-dimensional (3-D) structure based on distributed components. A distinct feature of this filter is the smaller size and lower in sertion loss than conventional filter at such a high frequency. With the assistance of the cross coupling which is implemented by a Z-shaped metal layer, a transmission zero is produced above the pass-band. The insertion loss is 1.6 dB and return loss is better than 20 dB within the pass-band. The overall size of the miniaturized filter is only 1.6mm×0.8mm×0.6mm.
