Abstract :
While design is central to education in many disciplines such as engineering and architecture, the assessment of design knowledge and skills continues to be a challenge to the educators. This work considers two graph-based tools (concept maps and justified graphs) for design assessment. By reviewing the uses of these tools for assessment in engineering and architecture design education, it is attempted to determine whether they meet the requirements for assessment of design knowledge and skills.
