Abstract :
In developing autonomy of uninhabited air vehicles (UAV), an important part is to design automatically a "safe" and "optimal" flight path (a series of waypoints) for a UAV to fly from one point to another in the presence of threats. This paper describes five different approaches to generate such a path. Furthermore, comparisons are drawn with regard to convergence, information requested, computational demand, etc. of each approach.
