Abstract :
In the process of preparation of electronic ink, the size distribution of microcapsules is the important character to indicate the quality of electronic ink. A method for measuring size distribution of microcapsules is proposed based on morphological image pre-processing and granulometry. First, color image of microcapsules microscope is pre-processed and converted to binary image; second, marker controlled watershed transform is used to separate contacted microcapsules. And finally, morphological reconstruction based granulometry is served to estimate size distribution of microcapsules. Experiments show that this method is efficient and feasible to measure size distribution of microcapsules
