Abstract :
Selecting an efficient inter block mode in H.264 standard should now be considered. Based on the ratio of cost to improve inter mode decision in H.264 encoder this paper proposes a novel scheme. By using different parameters the proposed algorithm is flexible for various video quality demands. Simulation results show that the proposed method can reduce H.264 encoder complexity effectively without significant loss of video quality
