  • Abstract
Summary form only given, as follows. Radius and current scaling with krypton gas puff Z-pinches was investigated. These experiments are performed on the 6-TW, 4-MA Double-EAGLE generator. The krypton L-shell radiated yield is optimized for a 4 cm diameter nozzle, with a ten degree inward tilt. Results on the yield versus current and gas admixture percentages have been obtained. The effects of nozzle geometries have been studied, and time-resolved diagnostics was used to study the implosion dynamics. The experimental data have been compared to 1D and 2D radiation-hydrodynamic and magnetohydrodynamic calculations.
