Abstract :
This work reports on an advanced capstone design course, developed and offered for the first time at the University of Maryland in Fall 2003. This course was shaped to provide an enhanced senior design experience. We explore our aims in the planning of the course and relate the outcome of the successful pilot run. Using student comments and our own observations, we also detail our intentions for improvement in the design and implementation of the course.
