Abstract
Summary form only given. The nonlinear dynamics of optical feedback systems and supercontinuum generation in synchronously pumped ring-cavities has attracted rising interest lately. When pumped by ultrashort mode-locked pulses, however, when supercontinua can be most easily generated, the modelling of these systems becomes computationally costly [1] and the underlying infinite dimensional maps make phenomenological interpretations of the results difficult.
