Abstract :
This paper presents an error-concealment (EC) based modified conditional replenishment method in lossy transmission, in which error concealment is applied in encoder side to simulate the possible operations of the decoder. Due to the unknown situation of the decoder, a solution is found to approximate the real condition of the decoder. Furthermore, a triangle-like intra update strategy is also proposed to improve the robustness of the stream. Simulations show that the proposed method can outperform the traditional methods and 0.5-1 db or so in PSNR. Moreover, various error concealment methods are implemented based on the proposed method. Simulation proves that average MV EC and median MV EC can be chosen as good trade-off between performance and computational load.
