Abstract :
In this paper, Iran power generation system (PGS) is assessed from a sustainability point of view based on an improved policy making framework. A procedure including Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) as a multi criteria decision making method is elaborated. Also, a new index is proposed and incorporated into the framework for sustainability assessment. The results reveal that all the dimensions of Iran PGS are located in a sustainable bandwidth. However, overall comparison of the dimensions shows an unbalanced development.
