Abstract
The authors present a novel dual-polarized antenna design for WLAN application in the 2.4 GHz band (2400-2484 MHz). The antenna consists of two simple planar monopoles printed and integrated on a circuit board for the WLAN application. The two monopoles are placed 90° apart, and between them, a protruded ground plane of suitable dimensions is introduced. In addition, since the proposed antenna is printed on the circuit board, the overall antenna volume is greatly reduced, and the antenna also becomes very easy to implement and has a lower fabrication cost.
