Abstract :
Zn-diffused LiNbO/sub 3/ waveguide devices for quasi-phasematched difference-frequency generation (DFG) were demonstrated for the first time. DFG experiments in 1.5-/spl mu/m wavelength band were performed, and an efficiency of -31 dB was obtained for 10-mm interaction length.
