Abstract
The operation of a tree-type WDM access system with low-cost tuneable terminals is demonstrated. Wavelength control is based on a central wavelength locker with laser tuning information being transmitted to the distributed terminal via a tone-based overhead channel. The wavelength evolution of turn-up and in-service operation is demonstrated.
