Abstract
In this paper, we introduce a new method to analyze the detection performance of radar systems, operating in K-distributed clutter and thermal noise. A parametric approximation of cumulative distribution function (CDF), and probability density function (PDF) in terms of weighted sum of exponentials for detection probabilities are obtained, using a finite amount of sample random variables in the environment. The method proposed here is based on approximating CDF of the sample variates by a linear combinations of complex weighted exponentials. This method simplifies the detection problem and is directly applicable to many problems in the simulation of communication systems to determine density functions.
