  • Abstract
This paper presents the conceptual design of the novel integrated planning tool intended to distribution system load flow based on GIS and it application. The computer-based (PC) framework combines the analytical capabilities of modern Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and distribution load flow. The avenue program is the program language that comes with Arc View. It used for tracing the attributes of distribution feeder perform to load flow input data. The load flow analysis was implemented in MATLAB and embedded in a GIS application (Arc View). This GIS like drawing tool has the capability to partially display a system based on different layers. The processing capabilities of GIS and the system´ ability to manipulate geo-referenced data and results in different formats and models make them suitable for planning and operation of distribution system. Multiple agents are involved in the distribution system planning and operation and therefore, authorities, utilities, and investors can become users of GIS planning.
