Abstract :
We investigate mode-division multiplexed transmission systems that employ several spans of few-mode fibers regarding the influence of splice-induced mode coupling on the transmission performance. We show that the combination of nonlinearities splice-induced coupling leads to astrongly impaired transmission performance.
