  • Abstract
This paper investigates the control and dynamic performances of small inverters interfaced generating units, including photovoltaic, wind turbines and small turbine generators that can provide electric power at a site closer to the customer and reducing transmission and distribution costs. Two typical control schemes of inverter interfaced dispersed generators are presented and implemented: the active and reactive power control scheme (PQ control), used if the inverter is operated to meet given real and reactive power set points, and the control of active power and voltage (PV control), used if the inverter is controlled to supply the load with given values of voltage and frequency. Dynamic simulations are carried on in order to investigate the behaviour of dispersed generators control systems and of low voltage distribution networks in different states of operation. Simulations analysis permitted to validate the implemented control schemes for implementation and testing on the field
