Several Massachusetts electronics firms have in recent years actively pursued a preventive approach to pollution problems. The state´s Office of Technical Assistance for Toxics Use Reduction helps companies using toxic chemicals to implement preventive methods. The author describes the state program requiring pollution prevention planning and some examples from field work of the Office
