Abstract
The subject of this paper is an antenna for automobiles. A wideband IFA for dual-frequency operation is presented in which horizontal elements are added on a vertical element. The matching loss and radiation characteristics are calculated by the NEC2 simulation tool, which uses the moment method. A plate is used as a shorted element of the IFA in order to increase radiation resistance. The plate is modeled by the wire-grid and a ground plane is modeled by an infinite plane in the simulation.
