Abstract :
Tellus Institute has recently completed a study of packaging materials which, unlike previous LCAs (life cycle assessments), considers the differing impacts of environmental releases. A ranking scheme was developed that accounts for the varying health impacts of emissions released from all stages of packaging material production and disposal. The results of the Tellus study are presented. The results of this work will lay out an approach to assist both policy makers and consumers to make informed decisions regarding packaging materials
