Abstract
This paper proposes a framework for J2EE-based cooperative design and investigates several associated technological issues. The proposed framework consists of XML-based system architecture for data transferring, the client with a ACIS/Hoops 3D core, and a J2EE-based application server. We also illustrate our solutions on how to develop the user interface of the client, how to construct a cooperative lock mechanism, and how to handle XML data transfer between client and server.
