Abstract :
In the paper, a measurement technique for measuring the dielectric permittivity variations in soil is considered. The technique is based on the impedance measurement of a system consisting of two linear dipoles located in parallel to the interface of a flat-layered media. As a result of theoretical and experimental investigations, the main characteristics of the antenna system have been determined. Measurements of layered media were carried out at the test-bench filled by sandy soil. It is demonstrated that the normalized impedance depends on frequency of the sounded signal, geometrical size of the dielectric parameters and depth of the maximum reflecting layer.
