Abstract
This paper presents the design of novel non-uniform linear phase digital filter banks based on the frequency-response masking technique. The proposed filter banks do not employ the multi-rate signal processing technique and is able to perform the equalization for each subband. This type of filter banks is very well suitable for digital audio applications. It is shown, by means of examples, that the proposed filter banks yield considerable savings in the number of arithmetic operations compared with traditional design methods.
