Abstract :
We investigated a lithium niobate (LiNbO3) single Mach-Zehnder modulator (MZM) with an active V-branch, which is similar to an optical V-branch switch. Using the modulator, we demonstrated high extinction-ratio operation (>60 dB) and confirmed the function and the useful of the active Vbranch MZM.
