Abstract
In this paper a complete UWB microwave tomographic system for encircling geometries applied to breast tumor detection is presented. The detection capability of the tomographic algorithm is proved through numerical simulations and measurements applied to canonical as well as to realistic breast phantoms. UWB frequency range has been chosen as a trade-off between spatial resolution and depth of penetration.
