Abstract
The paper deals with the problem of blind symbol timing estimation for orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing systems with noncircular transmissions in multipath channels. Specifically, the estimation of the arrival time of the first multipath component is considered. By modifying an algorithm recently proposed for additive noise channels, a blind estimator that assures relevant performance in multipath fading channels is obtained.
