  • Abstract
This paper looks at the issues involved in the process of establishing a Wholesale Electricity Market in South-Eastern Australia, along with the processes employed and the models that were developed to produce flexible competitive prices necessary to win customers that also added value to the owners of the business. An insight is given to the way the psychology of the evolving market impacted on the pricing of risk, and a method to calculate the cost of customer load volatility is outlined
