Abstract
Owing to their high efficiency, compactness and stable operation, laser-diode-pumped Nd:YAG (LDP-YAG) lasers are becoming very popular in various applications. We have been developing and designing LDP-YAG lasers using simulation techniques such as ray tracing and thermal analysis. In this paper, several kinds of LDP-YAG lasers developed at Toshiba are described. We discuss a high power laser with 7 kW output power at more than 20% efficiency, a commercial SHG laser marker system for chip scale packages (CSP), and a laser for spaceborne LIDAR.
