  • Abstract
    A Yb:KGW kHz regenerative amplifier directly end-pumped by two 1.6-W diodes was demonstrated for the first time. After compression, we obtained 40-/spl mu/J, 490-fs FWHM pulses at 1-kHz repetition rate.
