Abstract :
In this paper, we propose a new kind of drawing tool "Roll Canvas", in which canvas vertically moves when the user rotates a wheel of computer mouse. The user can freely draw pictures on the canvas by dragging his/her mouse, and the canvas moves upward (or downward), when the user rotates the mouse wheel forward (or backward). The moving canvas has a cylindrical loop structure like a movie film. When the wheel is continuously rotated, the speed of moving canvas increases. When the user stops the rotation, the canvas gradually decreases its speed, and finally stops. The user can draw pictures even during the movement of the canvas, and consequently feels as if the pictures are painted on rotating cylindrical canvas.
