Abstract :
A micro-stimulator circuitry designed for visual prosthesis based on optic nerve stimulation is presented in this paper. This micro-stimulator is capable of providing a wide range of biphasic current pulses with an amplitude from several muA up to 4 mA, a pulse width from 20 musec up to over four hundred musec, and a pulse frequency up to over three hundred Hz. The micro current pulses transmitting to the penetrating multi-electrode-arrays will stimulate optic nerve to elicit phosphenes within visual field. The performances of the proposed micro-stimulator circuitry were studied using the PSPICE program. The simulation results verified the circuit performances are agreed with the expected values
