Abstract :
We introduce a trackball type three degree-of-freedom (3-DOF) haptic display capable of reproducing the sensation of sliding contact on a fingertip. This improvement makes it possible to control the device about the turn axis in the horizontal direction and this improvement makes it possible to control the device about the turn axis in the horizontal direction and the range of the sense of touch of the user. We ascertained that this device functioned adequately as a device possessing 3-DOF.
