Abstract :
We show experimentally that the nonlinear transmission performance of Nyquist-filtered 128Gb/s PDM-QPSK and 256-Gb/s PDM-16QAM signals is direction-dependent in inhomogeneous fiber links. We further study the impact of electronic dispersion pre-compensation on the performance in the underperforming direction for superchannel transmission.
