Abstract
In high frequency region, the response of an extended target is well approximated as a sum of responses from individual scattering centers. This work presents two subpixel processing techniques for target scattering center extraction from synthetic aperture radar (SAR) or inverse SAR (ISAR) images. Using the proposed techniques, procedures for scattering center extraction are developed and used to characterize the electromagnetic (EM) scattering of complex targets. Typical results demonstrate the superior performance and usefulness of the current techniques
