Abstract :
The pulsed explosive ion emission was at first time described about 20 years ago. The following study of this type of ion emission was addressed to the understanding of physical aspects of the phenomena. The experimental and theoretical results of emission, the time characteristics and intensity of electrical field in ion diode are presented in the paper. The emission characteristics for different ions are discussed. The potential observed effect of collective acceleration or forming of ion beam in anode plasma is presented. The main parameters of pulsed ion emission are presented. The some recommendations for design of pulsed ion sources based on the phenomena are given.
