Abstract :
Energy control is the most important problem for wireless sensor networks, and the primary performance objectives are energy conservation and the design of an efficient energy strategy for prolonging the whole networks´ lifetime. As the applications of wireless sensor networks increase, the network protocols become more and more complex. But all the protocols have to aim chiefly to saving energy. The focus of the paper is to present the energy control strategy in energy-efficient MAC and routing protocols for wireless sensor networks. Then some open issues are provided for further studies for solving the problems of reducing the energy consumption in wireless sensor networks
